FLELE TUTORIAL FOR MORONS. by =MokoNe:iconMokoNe:

FLELE TUTORIAL:
This tutorial is designed by a techonology noob, for techonology noobs. I hope this can help you install, edit and use your FLELE as painlessly as possible!

FLELE Introduction: FLELE's are basically small music applications that come in the form of singing characters, that you have on your desktop to play mp3 files. They can take a maximum of fifty music files at a time.

INSTALL YOUR FLELE!

#1 On your Desktop, make a folder called 'FLELE' (You'll stop getting so confused then).

#2 Click on the link in the Authors Note to download the program. Extract its contents into your FLELE folder (Right click on the zipped file, select extract then browse for the FLELE folder, copy and paste the content of the zipped folder or open up the zipped folder and select the 'Extract All/Files' and save into the FLELE folder).

#3 Go into your FLELE folder, then into the folder 'ssp_flele_miku', then open the 'ssp' application (it looks like a pink bow with a cat bell).

#4 Now, your FLELE (which should be Hatsune Miku) should have popped up in the lower right hand corner of your screen. Right click on her HEAD and you should get (NB: IF A SMALL MENU IN JAPANESE APPEARS(1), JUST CLICK AWAY AND RIGHT CLICK ON ANOTHER PART OF HER UNTIL YOU GET..) the menu. Select 'Language' then 'English'. Then go to 'Options' and select 'Always play foreground.' That will keep your little FLELE character always on top of your windows.
If you're not going to change the shell (see below), then you'll need to restart your FLELE for these changes ot take place. If you're going to change the shell, just follow the instructions below.

CHANGING THE SHELLS!
The shells - or skin - are basically which character you want to sing for you. The current FLELE should come with some options already (see below) which you can choose from, but you'll probably want some others too!

#1 Close your FLELE - just right click and 'Exit'.

#2 You can now download the file you want.
For the vocaloids, go to the link in the Authors Note.
If you want the vocaloids, for example, create a new folder called VOCALOID inside: FLELE>ssp_flele_miku>ghost>flele_aya>shell. Then click on each characters name in the link and save then in the folder. It's easier to create seperate folders for each fandom or etc that you want.

#3 You'll need to extract the files - I would recommend doing this:
a) For zips, either copy and paste from inside the zipped folder, or extract to the below location.
b) For .RARs, either extract using winzip straight to the location, or if you are using an online extractor, save and then move to the location (with IE you can save directly into whichever folder you want, but with Firefox you'll need to download then move.)
FLELE>ssp_flele_miku>ghost>flele_aya>shell.
Do that for all the shells.

#4 Then go back to FLELE>ssp_flele_miku and open up ssp again.

#5 Right click on the FLELE that appears again and select 'Shell' the list of all the different shells (including the ones that came with it already and the ones you downloaded) should be in there. Just select the one you want.

YOU NOW HAVE YOUR FLELE!

PLAYING MUSIC

#1 Open up your 'Music' folder.

#2 Drag the song(s) you want to play onto your FLELE. When the bubble pops up, click 'play'. Bear in mind, FLELE can only hold up to fifty files at one time.

TO CREATE A MUSIC LIST:
Just keep dropping on more music, and it will play them all. To view the music your playing, right click on your FLELE's right arm - though this isn't always the case - to bring up the small japanese menu. Going through the options, you can view the music you have put in your FLELE.
The last option is (I think) the different play modes - repeat, shuffle, etc. Just have a play around.

PLAYING OPTIONS:
EDITED! It often varies from Shell to shell.
AND YOU NEED TO DOUBLE CLICK TO GET THESE OPTIONS TO WORK.

Depending on how the creator wanted the setup to be, the playing options vary from FLELE to FLELE. the general options on the body of the FLELE are Play/Pause, Next, Menu, Song Bar and Clear.
I can't include a guide for every single FLELE for obvious reasons, so just mess around yourself and work it out.

EXTRA OPTIONS AND IMPORTANT NOTES:

DRESSUP:
You can dress up your FLELE! Just right click on it and select 'Clothes/Dressup' and mess around with the selection.

PETTING YOUR FLELE!
You can pet your FLELE on the head - it's extremely cute. Just rub your mouse over their head, and they will blush and go all speechless. It can be tricky to find the right spot, but it's very cute once it works.

DOWNLOADING OTHER SHELLS:
They are some artists on DA who create FLELE shells. You can also browse the internet to find some. I will include links in the authors comments.

DOWNLOADING .RARS:
You can either download WinZip, which is a program that can extract .RARs for you. Winzip is a trial, and runs out after 40-46 days.
Or you can use an online extractor. I would recommend wobzip, though I believe you can redownload Winzip.

TROUBLESHOOT, NOTES AND TIPS:
If your FLELE wont play music, it could mean that:
-It's not an mp3. It MUST be an mp3.
-You might need to install East Asian Languages. Go to your control panel, your computers Language Options, then 'Add Languages'. Finally, 'Install files for East Asian languages'.
-Sometimes they wont take funny file names. If it has strange characters in, it might not play it. Just a warning.
-Loads of people have the problem that their FLELE works - it plays the songs and sings, but no sound comes out. I THINK I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION TO THIS.

On your toolbar at the bottom of your screen, open up the Volume Mixer. On Vista, you have to scroll along if there are more than four programs open with sound. Scroll along until you can find your FLELE - I have discovered that sometimes it sets it on mute by default, or while playing around with the settings you accidenatlly mute it. Unmute it.

Good luck!

OTHER FLELE TUTORIALS:
Some deviants have written tutorials on how to install your FLELEs, and on how to make your own skins. Links at the bottom.

HAVE FUN WITH YOUR FLELE!!!

02/September/2009 - updated with new details and written to be more user-friendly. Some day I shall make this into a proper, visual file with screenshots, but for now please bear with the text file. Please feel free to comment if you have any problems or suggestions.

13/November/2009 - updated again to add new Shell artists, tips and list of operating systems that are and are not compatible with FLELE. Much love, guys! <3

Author's Comments

This tutorial is created specifically for beginners, and technology morons like me. I just wanted to create a tutorial that noobs could use easily without all the jargon and complicated processes, so they could install their FLELE as painlessly as possible.
I'm not expert, but I'm doing the best I can. I'm also planning on doing a shell tutorial for morons once I get photoshop - if I can ever grasp the concept!

EDIT: Thank you so much to all the people who used this tutorial, and commented to help me upgrade and improve this tutorial! I'm very glad that this has been able to help people <3
And another thank you to =Niaro, who linked to this tutorial on her FLELE shell.

Systems FLELE is compatible with:
Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows 7 Beta (not complete version)

System FLELE is not
MAC (UNCOMFIRMED)

IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS 7, MAC (NOT CONFIRMED) OR ANY OTHER OPERATING SYSTEM THAT IS NOT MENTIONED ABOVE, AND WISH TO TRY FLELE, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT IF IT WORKS FOR YOU OR NOT (If not, I will try to help.)
This will benefit other users who wish to try, so people can know whether or not it will work on their systems.
Thank you!

No, I have Windows. It just refuses to download it, something about a security risk that I have NO WAY in changing.
